Across her multidisciplinary practice, Alliyah Enyo harnesses song, somatics and sculpture, queering ancient mythology and folklore in widespread outcomes from recorded sound to installation and performance. Her ambitious debut album 'Echo's Disintegration', which embodies grandiose themes of reverence, memory and spatiality (The Wire, 2023), began as a live performance in the ornate surroundings of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh. The live recording was intricately transformed through the electroacoustic manipulation of reel-to-reel tape; her echoing, mystical vocal explorations forming transcendent meditations on divinity.

As a DJ, her sets build on her meditative approach to sound, centring on the harmonies of ambient dance music and the polyrhythms of outernational influences. This approach is captured in her RA mix of the day, ‘Contact mix’, which explores the ephemeral beginnings of a club atmosphere; an invitation to the dancers to make initial contact. She has further honed her sound as resident DJ at EXIT, a DIY after-hours space in Glasgow, where she incorporates choral vocals and ethereal ambient into club atmospheres of psychedelic and percussive leftfield dance music.
